The Media Foundation for West Africa is organizing a training workshop to empower women to build digital literacy and skills for their work and engagements.

The Digital Literacy and Skills training workshop is being organized as part of MFWA project on “Enhancing Press Freedom, Women’s Digital Rights and Accountable Governance in Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone” being implemented with funding support from the Dutch Foreign Ministry through the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ghana.

About MFWA

The MFWA is a regional independent non-governmental organisation with a network of national partner organisations in all 16 countries in West Africa. It is the biggest and most influential media development and freedom of expression organisation in the region with UN ECOSOC (Economic and Social Council) Consultative Status and Observer Status with the African Commission of Human and Peoples Rights (ACHPR).

The MFWA also has Equivalency Determination Certification with NGOSource that certifies the organisation as being the equivalent of a public charity in the United States.

Aim and Benefits of MfWA Digital Literacy and Skills Training Workshop

As part of the project, the MFWA will empower at least 400 women (female journalists, and women’s rights activists, among others) in Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone with relevant digital literacy and skills to improve women’s access to and use of digital tools.
